Looking for a simple, quick demonstration of forces and acceleration in circle motion? This large apparatus consists of two hoops mounted on a rigid shaft. Each hoop carries 2 drilled balls that can slide along the hoop. The balls on one hoop are heavy brass, those on the other are lightweight plastic. When the hoops are rotated by the shaft, you might expect that the different masses of the two kinds of spheres would cause them to take up different positions on the hoops. The effects are surprising! Includes complete instructions. Hoops are 30.5cm in diameter.
