There are many natural phenomena taking place in this seemingly simple demonstrator. The spinner contains a pair of ring magnets and is "levitated" by an arrangement of four magnets concealed in the base which repel the spinner. The end plate stabilizes the spinner axially and provides a low-friction bearing so that the spinner loses anglar momentum very slowly. You'll find yourself using this device when you discuss principles of magnetism, electric motors, forces of friction, momentum and much more. Size: 14cm long by 7cm wide.
